Installing iCopy

Installation Using home Mac or PC
If you sync your bookmarks with your iPhone the easiest way to install iCopy is to drag the following link to your bookmarks in Safari then sync them with your iPhone. (Please note: I use Safari and have tested this. I don't believe this will work with Internet Explorer as it limits the length of a URL to about 2000 characters and this is much longer than that.)

Drag This Link To Safari

Installation Directly on iPhone
Please note: It's important to follow these instructions. Just saving the link page as a book mark will not work. You need to edit the bookmark and remove the beginning part. (Step 9 below)

  1. Click here to get the application link
  2. Click the plus (+) to add a bookmark
  3. Click "Save"
  4. Click the bookmarks icon to open bookmarks
  5. Click "Edit" near the bottom of screen
  6. Click on the Copy/Paste bookmark
  7. Tap on the URL portion of the page
  8. The cursor will be at the end of the URL. Scroll to the beginning of the URL. (See below for tips on this step)
  9. Delete everything before the word "javascript" (everything in red below)
  10. Press Return
  11. Click "Bookmarks" near the top to return to your bookmarks
  12. Click "Done" to exit edit mode
  13. Click "Done" to exit bookmarks

The copy past program will be installed. Try it out.

Install the most recent (stable) version of iCopy

Version 1.2 (3-4-2008) - Copy text from text field or most text from page (as long as it's contained in a <p>, <ol>, <ul>, <div> or <td> tag) or URL to the clipboard for later pasting. Or sent text or URL to a new email. Text sent to email retains HTML formatting. (current version)
Version 1.1 - Copy and paste text from text field or URL to a text field or email text or URL
Version 1.0 - Copy and paste text from text field or URL to a text field

You need to get to the beginning of the URL to edit part of it. Click and hold on the URL until you get the magnifying loop. Now slide your finger to the left until it's just barely off the page. The URL text should be scrolling now. Keep scrolling until you get to the very beginning. If your finger slips don't tap the URL or you'll go back to the end. Again, click and hold until you get the loop.

When deleting the beginning of the link, again make sure you click and hold to get the loop.
